If all USA roads, parking lots and sidewalks were replaced with Solar Roadways, the power generation could be over three times what we currently consume.
So that’s the benefit - what’s the cost?

I very much doubt it. Apart from the physics issues (including short days, cloudy days, nights), there is the question of storage, which is makes the entire enterprise (as a replacement for hydrocarbons) ridiculous. Solar has some very good application, but you can’t run an industrial economy on it.
