A mistake—will not end well for the Rams.
He wasn’t drafted for his playing ability. He was drafted as what has become known as a “two-fer”.
Some serious PC points there for the RAMS that will provide a PC shield for them.
And if he does not you just know it will be blamed on “homophobia” as per the old tired dialectic.
When they release him can they say “We let him go because he sucked?”
Should be an interesting game when the rams play the packers, the jokes just write themselves.
There’s a big ole earthquake fault running right through St. Louis, right? Pity.
Well you make a point, but I could also say that it might backfire with fathers canceling season tickets or not going to games.
I read somewhere that as soon as Manziel was drafted, Cleveland season tickets took off quickly. How many season tickets were sold for St. Louis?
If your premise is true, why not go all out? Make your team at least half gay, and openly. I mean start with pink uniforms. I mean the locker room interviews would be a stitch. Have the cheer leaders full of cross dressing men.
I mean, let’s not hide it folks.
In summary, I think you’ll see Sam cut fairly soon.
Ok a gay guy got drafted. Been a few. What made it all crappy was his reaction on national TV. I’m pretty sure that he’ll be told NOT to display that kind affection again. The NFL doesn’t like to lose money. But knowing the media if he ever plays and his bedmate is in the stands they’ll have cameras focused on him jumping up and down...screaming...crying. Ugh.
A very large percentage of sports columnists are diehard libs whose goal is to promote “social justice” as much as it is to cover sports. And they love something like this. I’d just like to have some sort of reaction meter attached to them when they saw the photo of Sam kissing his boyfriend. I’ll bet many of them were just as revolted as most normal men were.
Note to gays: If you want full acceptance you’d be better served to keep your kisses private.
Most of us don’t want gays back in the closet, but the “in your face” displays give us reason to be weary of you. We’d prefer that both heteros and gays GO TO ANOTHER ROOM if they must smooch.
Just watch. Michael Sam is going nowhere, no matter how much he "sucks" at football. They will never fire him, trade him... never. They wouldn't dare now. Then they'll be forced to give him playing time. Just watch. This is just the beginning. Wait until they make women mandatory on the roster. You're witnessing the beginning of the end of American football.
But what about the fans that will decide to cut the NFL from their life? I believe I will be one of those. If the NFL wants to embrace the corrupt social agenda, then I think they do not need my money or support.
“But what about the fans that will decide to cut the NFL from their life?”.......
That would be me! There are much better things to do than watch some pampered idiots who are unable to count past ten with their shoes on play a game.
Just another reason to NOT watch the National F****t league.
And of course, there’ll be the obligatory TV movie.
Most of the public didn’t really care of the fact Sam is homosexual.. Most just regarded him as one of many hundreds of players hoping to get “the call” announcing they’d been drafted up.
The prime culprits are the “media” who relentlessly pushed the “you’d better cheer this on or you’re a homophobe” narrative. I for one didn’t care about his sexuality prior to Saturday, but his nationally televised (ugh) kiss to the “boyfriend” and his whining that he should’ve been drafted earlier tell me Michael Sam is either wittingly or unwittingly pushing an agenda that’s going to turn a lot of erstwhile fans off from pro sports.
He signed a contract as a spokesman for VISA.
I'm sure the ESPN producers were yelling "Kiss HIM" behind the scenes, and now this fine by the NFL for another player tweeting "horrible".
The NFL has clearly defined its message for the coming season, and for the first time in nearly 40 years, I'm seriously considering boycotting the NFL. The whole thing seems to be devolving into a cesspool of immorality.
