Published on May 5, 2014 William Baer, a parent upset over a reading selection in Gilford, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when police said he did not leave a school board meeting after being asked

Arrest was unnecessary. However, he did speak out of turn and did disrupt the meeting. It would have been more suited to the crime if he had just been sited for trespass.
So questioning our elected officials is now an offense were you can be arrested? The young robot school board girl that just kept repeating sir...sir is the problem.
One day these punk liberal so-called educators will learn they work for us.
I know it’s easier said than done but concerned parents need to UNITE. Stand together with those who speak out. The other people in the meeting should have gotten between the cop and the concerned parent. Force the cops to arrest them all. The citizens have been inattentive too long.

Before speaking, Baer was told he had two minutes. He went beyond that time and sat
down, but then got into an argument with another parent who approved of the book at
the high school.
“So what is the remedy here?” Baer asked.
The board said it would not take questions on the matter.
“Why dont you have me arrested then?” he asked, after which an officer arrested
him and took him to the police station.

It was wrongful arrest, but he put that bee in her bonnet. “Why don’t you just arrest me then?? (I double-dog-DARE you!!)” Walk over that chalk line, sister! “As you say, Sir”. That room is meant for little children, not fully grown men and women in their office clothing. Could be due to the crowded room, the speaker chick ‘felt threatened’. ( “I thought he was going to grab my blouse!”.)
The word is “cited” and you think that this arrest is in any way appropriate?
Since when are we supposed to be limited to two minute limits on our rights?
BBBBAAAAAAAHHHHAAAA!!!
Anyone who is really concerned about liberal indoctrination in public schools shouldn't have their kids in them to start with. That's what the whole public school paradigm was designed to do from the get-go.
Most disturbing to me was the way the cop reached down and took a hold of his wrist.
Ready to bend, twist, break, etc., for pain compliance.
(My imagination) Then if Baer screamed and collapsed to his knees, he could beat Baer for resisting, failure to stand/lay when commanded, and ‘resisting.’
That’s incorrect and a bad assumption on your part.
He’s a lawyer who is planning to take this as a case.
What was the crime?
So sure, everyone just jump and start talking all at once. That leads to everyone talking and no one listening - the opposite of civil discourse. The right is to peacefully assemble. In order to maintain the peace, it is necessary to have rules where everyone gets a chance to speak. Thus the need to limit each person to the same amount of time. Two min in this case. If that rule is not put in, or if that rule is not followed, then one person gets their right to speech at the cost of others rights to speech.
The man that was arrested did not follow the rules for the conduct of the meeting. He spoke out of turn and did not yield when required by the chair.
The right to free speech is not absolute. You do not have the right of free speech on my property. You can not endanger others or defame them.
He was disruptive to the meeting. The Chair should have asked the officer to Trespass the man (remove him). Failure to voluntary remove himself would then result in removal and citation.
However, that is not what happened. Instead of using the least amount of law/force, the officer jumped straight to disorderly conduct and arrested.
