In the future, please place sensationalist, tabloid material (which is 90% of the Daily Mail) in chat.

Thanks,

At deadmalls.com, there are references to the racial issues of both of these malls. At any of the malls within a 40-mile or so radius of me, it comes down to racial demographics.

I don’t see how any retail place can survive right now in a mall. Not only does the ‘real’ economy suck, but they can’t possibly compete with online competitors. Their merchandise would already be a higher price than online, and that’s even before they have the high rent to pay, various taxes, and overhead. Just a sad situation really.

Their business models HAVE to be centered around ignorant customers that aren’t aware of the lower online prices. As a shopper, there really isn’t a reason to physically go to these places. The only time I do is if there’s an unusual situation where I may want to LOOK at something in person, before buying it online. In that case, they’re nothing more than a showroom really.

You just know that things aren’t going well when you see what was space formerly occupied by a big ‘anchor’ retail chain at the mall being rented out to a CHURCH! lol

I think it would be neat if they turned one of the closed down malls into a giant paintball or laser tag place. Perhaps an indoor shooting range with gun shops.

store after store deserted the out-of-town malls

When Obama's vast collection of children overran them.

Nobody is taking their family shopping in that environment.
I'll go there if I have to - armed.

Most malls seem to do OK until somebody gets the bright idea to run "public" transportation from the inner city to them so underpriveliged "kids" have something to do and a nice place to go. After all, it's only "fair" and giving them opportunity for a "better" life, right?

After the "teens" finally arrive, it is all down hill from there. What decent person wants to shop or hang around a bunch of ferals who hate you and want to turn your nice shopping experience into "their" turf on their terms and terrorize you in the process?

Years ago, I really enjoyed going to our malls. Nowadays, I find it much easier to order online.

Sung to the tune of GREEN ACRES....

Obama Acres is the place to be.
Mall shopping is the life for me.
Unemployment spreading out so far and wide.
Keep DC just give me some malls that died.

DC is where I’d rather stay.
Unemployment is as good as pay.
I just adore that broken glass view
Darling, I love you but give me some pigeon stew.

We have one such mall in the Dayton area, absolutely destroyed by black youth who drove the white shoppers away. Another mall in the area is currently restricting the ours kids can enter without adult supervision. The nicest and newest has limited bus traffic around it’s perimeter.

Going to Rolling Acres was a treat, and tossing a quarter into the fountain made the experience extra special. By the time I was in middle school people started calling it Strolling Afros. By high school, you just didn’t go there. It actually made me tear up to see those pictures, especially the one of the fountain. obama’s sons and daughters destroyed it,

*shrugs* Malls are obsolete. Heck, almost all physical retail is obsolete. There's just no need for it with internet access.
I almost never go to any stores other than the supermarket or the hardware store. I haven't bought a gift at a brick and mortar store in years.
Me neither.
