It's one of the most famous monster stories of all time. And now Godzilla has had a reboot - complete with incredible special effects and an amazing cast - for a new blockbuster due for release this summer. A new extended trailer for the movie, which stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, shows the back story of Bryan's nuclear physicist character Joe Brody, as well as the first proper look at the terrifying monster.

terrifying monster? moochie or hildebeast vs Godzilla. Mothera doesn’t hold a candle to those two.

Godzilla needs to be a guy in a rubber suit. If someone can’t understand that, no amount of explanation will help. As if the last CGI abomination with Ferris Bueller wasn’t a screaming example of this.

Pacific Rim showed the genre can be done well with CGI.
On the other hand, there should be more slow motion than that had.

'Theres definitely a nuclear element to the movie and my Godzilla is definitely a representation of the wrath of nature and its vengeance upon man,' he revealed. More greenie weenie propaganda from Hollywood Reds?

“Godzilla needs to be a guy in a rubber suit.”
Yes indeed. I saw some of the last Godzilla movie and I was very disappointed.

Perhaps although that was the theme from the original movie.

Looks like it.
Bryan Cranston stars.....”What’s my Name?” louder “What’s my NAME?”....
“Gojira” softly
“You’re G’damn Right!”

That was made in the wake of nuclear bombs and annihilation (and later films address pollution). They should set it in Japan if they want to make commentary about the Fukushima nuclear reactor. Or are American audiences too racist to watch a movie with a largely Japanese cast?

Well....the opening scenes of the trailer showed Mt. Fuji in the background.

I didn’t watch the photos, but everyone I saw in the Warner Brothes released publicity photos was black or white (including the fleeing citizens).

My thirteen year old has been watching the Godzilla movie with Matthew Broderick and Jean Reno since he was a baby. He asked me if I wanted to watch it with him again a few days ago. My answer was no, but I’m up for a new one. Bring it on.

Somehow, I get the feeling that this Godzilla movie is NOT going to suck. Several kaiju-film freaks are praying my assessment is correct. We do NOT want to have to equate Bryan Cranston with Matthew Broderick's massive piece of suck.
