The burger joint Hubby and I frequent has a burger called The Pigpen. 3/4 lb. of burger, house-smoked bacon (they do their own), grilled black forest ham, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, swiss cheese, and the house special sauce. It’s SO good. They have another one that has all that and 28 oz. of ground chuck. It’s a foot tall. I’ve never tried that one.

Screw these people. What’s next,a proposal to depopulate the third world?

I'd probably second that. Think of how the world's "carbon footprint" would go down. But as far as the meat and cheese thing, just no.

Let’s see tomorrow night I’ll take the Mrs. out for supper and I’ll be sure I have a double order of beef tips and a milk shake. She’ll have some type of beef. We’ll top it off with an ice cream sundae. We’ll come home to a well lit house {Par 38 Halogen floods on outside} driving our nice big high top conversion van.

Noop. Not in this house- neither the pups, nor us (probably not the fish-to-come, either).

I’m surprised nobody’s posted this yet (via Drudge)

http://atlanta.cbslocal.com/2014/04/01/study-vegetarians-less-healthy-lower-quality-of-life-than-meat-eaters/

Vegetarians are less healthy than meat eaters, have a 50% higher risk of heart disease & cancer, more chronic conditions, & mental health problems.
From the article:

“Chronic problems associated with vegetarians and people eating carnivorous diets rich in fruits and vegetables were linked to more frequent visits to doctors, which the study authors suggest requires public health programs to reduce the health risk due to their nutritional factors.”

Plus: Vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, & legumes, especially) are notorious for causing gas.

But even eliminating all carbon dioxide emissions from the energy and transportation sectors may not be enough

That's a great first step before we stop eating meat and cheese. Let's stop burning any hydrocarbon fuel. And we're not allowed to make hydrogen from hydrocarbon fuel, either, for those who are big on hydrogen as a fuel, because the manufacture of hydrogen from hydrocarbons also releases CO2. So, it's solar and wind.

But why stop with meat and cheese? Think how much reduction in CO2 emissions we could have if we stopped eating altogether.
