The Paula Deen Comeback Spectacle continues: The latest development, a People cover story in which the celeb chef compares herself to Michael Sam, the former University of Missouri football player who famously came out as gay in advance of the NFL Draft.
Here's how the Wrap quotes her from the story:
I feel like ‘embattled’ or ‘disgraced’ will always follow my name. It’s like that black football player who recently came out… He said, ‘I just want to be known as a football player. I don’t want to be known as a gay football player.’ I know exactly what he’s saying.
It seems that the embattled, disgraced Deen does not in fact know exactly what Sam is saying. Or does she? Can anyone really be this obtuse? Even for Deen, it's a stretch.
As anyone would expect, people have jumped all over this story. Here's Grub Street's theory: Deen's just Donald Trump-ing everyone now, dropping nonsense like this because she knows it'll get a rise out of people. Like Trump, Paula Deen the caricature has fully overtaken Paula Deen the person. When she starts calling her new $20 million restaurant "classy," we'll know this is the case.
I agree with her... she is like Michael Sam.

You obviously are just full of yourself.
I don’t see what you did deserved a punishment by way of destruction of your life, business, empire and happiness but, You are no longer pretending to be stoopit.
You need to heed the advice of your business associates and shut up about this.
Put it behind you and move on.
You are making yourself a target and fodder for your enemies and losing drip on those who at least had sympathy for you.

In my mind, her name will always be followed by “illegal luvin’ lying RAT” but maybe that’s just me.
Michael Sam has not been victimized by the left and lost millions of dollars simply for expressing his views.
Paula Deen has been a victim of the left and has lost millions of dollars simply for expressing her view.
She was not victimized by the left. She IS the left. Jesse Jackson and Obama are her biggest defenders. She is Michelle’s good buddy.
To hell with all of them.
She cooks good.
She has good recipes.
I will continue to copy her good recipes if she is white, black, green, queer, transtesticle, whatever.
The only ones screaming RACE are the same oneS that always interject race into every single little thing.
And I don’t waste one nannosecond of my time giving a damn what they think, what they say, what they call me, or what they think I called them.
Its the only card they have and they can run it into the ground for all I care.

She suffered that penalty for expressing her views? I thought she suffered that penalty because leftists imputed her views.
I heard on the radio today that after the workout Michael Sam did at the combine, that he is undraftable.
If you are a 6th or 7th round choice, the best the team can hope for is a practice squad guy. But who would draft a practice squad guy for the media circus that would come with him?

The only noise he made at the combine here in Indy was in the press room.
His on-field work was not good.
Too slow for linebacker, too small/weak for lineman.
Of course back when I was working in industry, there was always pressure to hire “diversity” candidates...
And we have not watched the Food Network or any of its affiliates since she was booted. My wife was a huge fan of the network and we watched it all of the time.
Me? I really didn’t care for the network. It made me hungry watching food for hours at a time. I usually gave in to temptation, too. And worst of all, I was sitting the couch.

I think you know the backstory here. Paula pissed off MObama. Wookie unleashed 20 year dirt about the N-word. Flying monkeys in the press ran with it. Paula's empire colllapsed costing her millions.
I think it will backfire because if someone drafts him and later cuts him at the end of the preseason the media and gay lobby will be all over them. Pass on this circus.
Deen wasn’t a victim of anybody. She’s a celebrity chef who constantly was showing unhealthy recipes and wound up with type 2 diabetes form eating the food she showed everybody how to cook. Food Network was looking for a reason to throw her out the door, then she mishandled what should have minor issue and they got their excuse.
