Remember that ending scene out of Indiana Jones where the Ark of the Covenant is boxed up and wheeled through an endless government warehouse?
Did you know that that place actually exists?
It is located 30 minutes outside Washington, D.C., at Fort Belvoir in Virginia. The building itself is very nondescript

The Center of Military History at Ft. McNair consistently denies that it has the Roswell aliens and their space craft hidden in the third level sub-basement of its building. Thus I doubt they will admit to having the Ark of the Covenant at Ft. Belvoir.

The pickled aliens are under Hangar 18 at Wright-Patterson. That's why the Foreign Technology Division is located at WPAFB.

Not a single piece in this massive collection is open to the public. Why is it kept under lock and key in a blackened warehouse? Simple answer: Because there is no museum to house it.
Bull. There's a number of museums in DC's Smithsonian complex. The collection could be rotated through there, a new set every month. It would probably draw lots of regular visitors.
The Army doesn't want to, because they want their own little empire.
