As always,Errant, you make good points.
Even if I(and I do not)and the Feds, would wish to ban the internet, that cannot be done now.
Can I buy stocks directly with bitcoin? Since anonymous contributions to politicians is now feasible, I would think so as they are both commodities, in the main.
Can I, in theory, exchange my bitcoin in dollars to bitcoin in renminbis? What I am trying to ask, if I sell my tulips to someone, can I get paid in bitcoin that I could instantly(more or less)convert to Renminbis, or perhaps, Hong Kong dollars?
‘At least for now, we haven't seen any reports of abortion clinics taking Bitcoin. But then, why should they when they can depend upon your tax dollars to help fund the murder of 1.3 million babies a year.’
Wow! I am pondering the implications of your observation.

You and large number of people seem to assume these transactions are anonymous. They aren't. All transactions are stored in thousands and thousands of synchronized and distributed public ledgers. If you know a particular wallet address, you are able to find every transaction into and out of that wallet, and you can know that by watching internet traffic.

For anonymity, you still need cash and I'm not too sure how long they will continue to allow the use of that the way things are going. Don't get caught with over a hundred $100 bills on you at the airport or anywhere else for that matter. You'll likely never get it back.

Crytocurrency offers the rare chance for the people to control the money supply and not banksters or their government cronies. That would be as the Almighty intended, IMO, and the beginning of a new epoch in the history of mankind. Naturally all of the above dependent upon us not blowing the world up beforehand.

You can watch transactions here: http://blockchain.info/

The invention of 3D printing is under similar suspicions and also feared by those who govern us.
