Arizona State University permanently severed ties with the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity late Thursday, just days after suspending the local chapter over accusations it hosted a distasteful party in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
University officials notified the fraternity of its decision and said the school is continuing to investigate members of the chapter and students who attended the party for violations of the ASU Code of Conduct, MyFoxPhoenix.com reported.
"At ASU, students who violate these standards will be subject to disciplinary sanctions in order to promote their own personal development, to protect the university community, and to maintain order and stability on our campuses, " ASU President Michael Crow told the station.

double secret probation...
Sounds like they were found guilty of blasphemy.
You will only believe and display predetermined and approved thoughts and actions.
We are Borg!
“Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we’re not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!”
It has little to do with race, actually.
Leftists have their heroes, idols and gods (lowercase g) and when they are mocked they react very badly.
A fraternity exercising creativity, bad judgment or harmless pranks was once rightfully viewed as complementary to the college experience, even when poor taste was involved. These are 18-22 year old males who are still being socialized and choose to do so in their own way. Patient administrators knew that this was, indeed, ‘just a phase’ and that most of the fraternity members would become productive citizens, proud alumni and represent the institution well.
But universities are now gossamer-thin bubbles of groupthink, easily pricked and therefore paranoid about any sharp objects such as legitimate dissent and still-legitimate high jinks.
What we sadly have allowed to happen in America, is a massive social indoctrination system.
We no longer have “education”. We have brainwashing.
Conservatives have allowed this to happen. Sure liberals have taken over education, but conservatives have been ... where?
Where?
Where are American conservatives?
At least they didn’t hold an MLK Day marksmanship contest.
I think its perfect that the ones with the zero-tolerance policies against free thinking are the free thinkers of the baby boom era.
America is at the abyss - either it becomes a Stalinist State or is ruptured by Civil War.
What is the statue of limitations on “Fiji” parties at frats?
From reading the article, it sounds like this particular frat chapter has had a pretty heavy history in recent years of over-the-line behavior. I wouldn’t rush to defend them in this case - this looks like it might just have been the straw that broke the camel’s back for a group that was already in trouble with the university.
Shut them down for this ... but allow others to stay in operation after repeated drunken parties, date-rapes, etc.? Really?
islamism okay though.
“What the hell are we supposed to do, ya mo-ron?”
I’ll take Stalinist state for a thou. No! Give me turn up the heat slowly for a thousand, Alex.
I do suppose if the fraternity had turned the party into a bugger fest then the ASU administrators would have applauded the debauchery as some sort of “rite of passage” but because some thin skinned pants wetter’s got offended the fraternity must be punished — In honor of dear leader.
Was the activity on school property?
What people do on their own time is their business.
Wasnt AZ the or one of the last states to regognize MLK day as a fed holiday? And the fed was withholding highway funds until they did?
