James Bond 24 & 25 Will Build on ‘Skyfall’

The fifty-year-old James Bond franchise is one of the most durable movie properties in existence, having reinvented itself with a new lead actor and new creative direction for each generation since Sean Connery originated the role in 1962′s Dr. No. Current franchise star Daniel Craigs first outing, in 2006′s origin-story/reboot Casino Royale, was a critical and commercial success and for the first time in Bond history was followed by a direct sequel, Quantum of Solace, which was commercially successful but seen as a disappointment by many fans and critics (but not us).

James Bond vs. Doctor Who. Let the reincarnation war begin.

Casino Royale was great. I didn’t care for Quantum or Skyfall. Quantum was senseless explosions and not very Bond. No swank. Skyfall was ok but toward the end got hokey.

I liked all three. Craig was also good in “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”.

I liked all three. Craig was also good in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Me too. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was a very "dark" movie but it was very good. Im looking forward to the sequel.
As far as James Bond, Craigs portrayal is probably closer to the character portrayed in the books. Connery was great in the role but Moore and the others after him were IMO way too cartoonish and clichéd for my taste. I really liked Skyfall.

Quantum of Solace was good because it dared to have a villian who is modeled after Al Gore. How many Hollywood pictures would do that?
And it had Olga Kurylenko in it. Is everyone who watched that movie blind?

"As far as James Bond, Craigs portrayal is probably closer to the character portrayed in the books." IMHO, Timothy Dalton was the truest to Fleming's character.

I want Pierce Brosnan as the new M, especially when Craig retires. In the last scene, Craig will be dead, and Brosnan will be behind his desk with a file folder, and will look up when a young man enters. To the young man, who the audience will only see from behind like Bond’s entrance at the casino in Dr. No, Pierce will say, “Your name is Bond, James Bond.”

I've come to the conclusion that James Bond is a timelord. everyone grows old around him, but nobody bats an eye when all of a sudden, BAM! new super-young James Bond. My theory, anyway.

Dalton was OK, much better than Moore or Brosnan IMO but I liked Dalton best in Hot Fuzz.

One of my favorite films, "Lion in Winter," features a very young Timothy Dalton as well as a very young Anthony Hopkins...

I like Craig as Bond. Sort of how John LeCarre would envisioned Bond. A bit on the edge rather than just ultra suave.
