It takes a special kind of person to keep pace with the king of conservative talk radio, Rush Limbaugh. Long-time producer James Golden, aka Bo Snerdley, accepted the challenge over 25 years ago, and he hasnt had time to look back since.
The years flew by, Golden told BizPac Review in a candid interview. At the beginning I was real skinny and I had hair, he said.
Despite juggling the duties of producer, researcher and call screener, Golden made the high-stress job sound almost effortless as he described a day in Rushs world.
He and his boss have a similar work ethic and a knack for radio built on decades of experience, Golden revealed (see insight video below).
The golden rules: Work hard, keep up with the news and have patience with people.
The down-to-earth conservative charmed a South Florida crowd at Wednesdays Republican Business Network meeting, where he answered questions both political and personal in nature.

Thanks for the post. Rush, Bo, and the show is great and gets better every day.
Nice hat.
FR has a ball???
I thought it was kind of a cool interview. he’s one of those background people that helped make Rush, “Rush” .... IMHO
So, in the moniker of “el Rushbo”, Rush is tipping his hat to Snerdley! Good on him!

I’m not a big a listener as I used to be, don’t have as much windshield time anymore.
I like Rush, but I think we need more Mark Levin’s.
I love “Bo’s” “translations”, don’t hear ‘em often enough.
I will profess ignorance here, I know that means Bump To The Top, but what exactly does that mean???
So that’s the origin of the words ‘El Rushbo”, right?
I used to listen to Rush via proximity to my parents, then actually started listening years later. Still learning.
That's you or that's him? /
I don’t think Rush puts in the effort he used to and the show has suffered a good bit for it. His analysis is still on point, but the bits that made the show for me were the parodies on feminists, Jocelyn Elders (those were classic), the Clintons, etc etc.
For such a small staff back in the day, they beat the pants of SNL for pure laughs. I really miss the updates and the show has not been the same since those stopped. Nothing needles the left like making fun of them..... nothing. His show needs humor and it would not take too many hires to go back to the classic parodies he pulled in the late 80’s through the 90’s.
Adding a post to the thread puts it at the top of the Comments page
OK, thanks.
That’s him.
Wonderful bright eyes! There is wisdom behind that gaze.
You have it right, and it’s a show of approval.
Yup, Mark is awesome. The fire combined with his intelligence and sense of humor is tough to beat. He also is rising to the battle. I thought Rush used to be a little too full of himself but he has matured and I truly look forward to him every day. (Along with Mark)
Bo has a good synergy with Rush. There was a short time when Bo left and went on his own for something else- the show suffered for it
When Bo came back it picked back up. He has a unique ability to pick the right calls for Rush
I find his arrogance a bit off putting, but it works and REALLY pisses off the libs, which I love.
