Okay, I need some expertise here My sound driver keeps cutting out, videos wont play, sound wont work once it starts
videos play 2 or 3 seconds and stop, if I click on the position icon on the progress bar, they begin again but stop, no sound
Also, my picture preview in Windows Explorer has stopped working
rebooting doesn't change the picture preview, but the sound driver seems to come back on sometimes
When I shut down, my windows exit sound usually comes back on, too
Do you update regularly?
Could be a video driver causing the player to screw up..in windows update, check the history to see if any sound or video drivers were updated recently...
tech ping?
Tried a System Restore?
I had an HP with issues and downloaded new drivers. First try reinstalling you current drivers. That is the simplest fix. One redo of a driver can cause another one
. Re installing WiFi caused my sound to screw up. Then I redid the sound and all was well.
HPs are pieces of caca
get a new one
Thumbs up, you got a corrupt file.
wow, no where in this did I tell anyone I was using an HP...I am...yet everyone is clueing in on it! LOL!
Okay, so far, no updates of any recent time, this problem is about a month old
all my updates have been Windows defender or other anti virus stuff
What does HP have to do with his post?
Why don’t you let me fix you some of this Mococoa drink, all natural cocoa beans from the upper slopes of Mount Nicaragua, no artificial sweeteners!”
In my experience, that is a no no.
Pick a good one, and use only it to avoid conflicts.
ESET NOD 32 IMHO is the best...been using it for years and never a problem.
Post 7 made me think it was an HP
wow, how did that get selected???

So simple, thanks! Fixed that,
NOW..why do my sound drivers go klerblooooie???
And why do they log on...when I am logging off???
Restart in safe mode with networking and see if your sound drivers still poop out. First thing I would do is update them from HP’s site.
Follow the instructions in this link to get sound working in safe mode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYPrLcVAeNA
If sound works fine, it’s something not playing nice with the driver like another running app or driver.
A bit drastic at this point doncha think? How about rolling back to a prior install point.
