Cowboys Management Comments On Dez Leaving Game Early

It’s no doubt that Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is a fierce competitor on the field, but his emotions got the best of him before the end of the game Sunday night against the Packers – forcing him to abandon his teammates on the sidelines and leave the game with minutes to spare.

Following a 4th quarter interception ruling, giving Green Bay the ball and ultimately the victory, Bryant left the bench and headed back to the locker room – according to Bryant, to cry.

“I was very emotional. I cried when I got into the locker room.” Bryant said Monday during a visit to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

“Obviously he was frustrated, as a lot of us were.” said Cowboys COO Stephen Jones. “It wasn’t a good decision on his part, I think he was the first to admit it. He let the heat of the moment and the emotion of the game get to him.”

The Cowboys coach should be fired. I’ll take Dez any day.

Wow. He needs to go and hurt some of the players on the defense.

What we see all around us is a lot of self centered, self indulgent emotionally weak behavior by generations who have been taught that what they feel is all that matters. And with an inability to deal with disappointment.

Not sure there’s any left that aren’t already hurt. Team is a mess and all the injuries have ruined them. I’ve been in the same situation a long time ago as a player and more recently as a coach. Wanted to cry both times but would not have abandoned my team to do it.

Isn’t this the same drama queen who was haranguing his teammates during a game a few weeks back?

Head Coach Jason Garrett didn't hire his Defensive Coordinator - owner/GM Jerry Jones did.

Garrett is the one who'll take gas...but it's the owner who needs to be fired.

I get your point, for sure, but even the post game casters took note that leaving the field “early” is unacceptable and that his doing so definitely needs to be addressed.

I read today that Dez ALWAYS has an excuse, when there is no excuse and suggested they are tolerated at all is because, “he catches the ball”.

True enough, on all counts.

Jerry Jones started the prima donna mentality that is destroying this team.

What defense? My gosh, I thought they left the field early.

Amen, but Garrett gave the nod for terrible offensive play calling in the clinch that mismanaged the clock.

Contrast that with the Packers players - never give up, even an injury decimated team can win against a deficit, and a solid adversary - with the right attitude. A guy who rage quits exemplifies the loser mentality to a marked degree. I think all the talk about being overcome by his emotions is a mask to coverup the rage quit.
