Good news, bad news -- there are still too many people who abandon animals.

so... It cost $5 to feed a cat for a week? If this were a TV add, just the cost the production would have fed the cats for the rest of their lives...

My daughter and son and I rescued our cat from a storm drain when he was a wee kitten, too young to be away from his mother.

How he got there, we don’t know.

I didn’t think it was news worthy at the time, but in the 5 years since the rescue, I’ve seen a number of news reports on similar rescues that were less interesting and less creative than ours.

He is a great pet, very close to the family.

No way! I dated a guy from Baldwinsville in college. I wonder if the kittens were rescued anywhere near the Traffic Light.

I can’t adopt. Grand Master Fluff is an only cat.

My son and his girlfriend volunteer at a popular local shelter every weekend. They said to donate items instead of giving money. They get handed a lot of money, but there never is enough food and cats go without litter. Something is wrong.

My youngest kitty, Snooki, was part of a litter of orphaned 4 week old kittens discovered in an abandoned home by a real estate agent who took them to a local animal hospital that does rescues. She was sick when I got her and needed about 2 weeks of medications to recover. She has grown up to be a beautiful, intelligent, afectionate and, yes, feisty little girl.

I’ve got 9 cats right now. Most are rescue and many are being turned in due to economy and not being able to care for them.

We have 2 older cats, 1 overweight, one kitten with one eye, and another cat someone left temporary and then moved to Minnesota. She says she’s going to come back and get it. Uh huh.

Obama’s economy is hard on pets as well as humans.
