This is something that needs to be brought up with legislators in your state.
Yes, it is a DIRE situation.
The answer, of course, would be to make sure that the police never hit the wrong house, or so rarely do so that any home invasion should be assumed by the homeowner to be criminal behavior. (Yes, it IS criminal behavior when done by the police on the wrong house.)
Maybe much stiffer penalties for the “go guy” when they decide to invade a residence.
Most of these ‘home invasions under color of law’, er, no-knock raids would become unnecessary if the Insane War on {some} Drugs was ended.
