    I remember reading Red Storm Rising and then The Hunt for Red October. Excellent well thought out plots.
He will be missed in the literary world.

    I read his “Hunt for Red October” book when I was going through Sonar “A” School, way back in 1985. Ronald Reagan spoke very highly of the book, and many in the intelligence community raised their eyebrows. Mr. Clancy was well-connected in the military community, and his stories will be missed.

    I heard that after Red Storm Rising that it was adopted by the War College as that was a scenario that they had not thought of.
Thank you Mr. Clancy for Jack Ryan, John Clark, Ding Chavez and all of your great characters, stories, and villains!
