E-cigarettes are more dangerous than thought and can cause cancer, the September edition of a French magazine has claimed.
Electronic cigarettes are far from the harmless gadgets theyre sold as by manufacturers, wrote monthly magazine 60 Million Consumers following a study of some 10 reusable and disposable e-cigarette models.
Its not a reason to ban them, but to better control them, said Thomas Laurenceau, chief editor of the magazine, which reports the findings of Frances national consumers' institute (INC).
The INC has relayed its findings to the authorities, Laurenceau told AFP.

Good little socialist. Control is the issue, not the cigarettes or the cancer.
With people like this in the press, who needs jackbooted thugs?
Shh...I think I hear someone exercising a freedom.
they want folks to buy the patches....at their obscene price...and I know no one who has had success via the patch.
May be carcinogenic?
‘Well, that’s it then - better Tax them to the hilt’

A female friend of mine got into trying to quit smoking.
Her solution (like everything else) was to find a substitute so she didn’t have to stop doing anything.
We went up to the local smoke shop, which is owned and operated by some Middle Easterners (not sure exactly where they are from)
She asked about buying and E-CIG, and since she and I were regular visitors, and my son has made friends with several of them, he told her YOU DON’T WANT THESE. THEY ARE BAD FOR YOU.
Turns out he was right. What did she do? Went somewhere else and bought an E-CIG anyway.
I know 7 people personally that quit smoking by using an e-cig, and subsequently just stopped buying e-cig refills.
Of course the .gov wants to regulate e-cigs. They are losing tax revenue.
the only thing that people seem to be able to openly and guiltlessly condemn these days is selling crack to schoolchildren, drunk driving, and anything that remotely resembles smoking.
otherwise, it’s george bush’s fault.
As for the cancer aspect: The only materials I've seen that have tested poorly are no-name Chinese pieces of junk that taste and smell awful. But every single one has tested better than a plain old cigarette.
If you are ADDICTED to nicotine (and you probably are, if you smoke every day) you will get sick when you try to quit.
You just have to recognize it for what it is- withdrawal symptoms.
The good news is, its over in less than a week (usually 2-3 days) - if you quit cold-turkey.
The best plan is to quit on a Friday and plan on sleeping the weekend away. Get some Xanax or Valium, and a couple of sleeping pills and sleep it off. Drink lots of liquids, no coffee.
When you quit you will have the following SYMPTOMS: Insomnia, heavy cravings for a cigarette, a headache and want to throw up. THIS GOES AWAY IN 24-48 hours!
IF you go a week straight with nothing, you've done it.
If you have so much as ONE PUFF during this time, you have to start over...
Unfortunately having no coffee may set off another withdrawal (caffeine) if you also have coffee every day. But this is also gone in 24-48 hours. Sleep it off.
“Of course the .gov wants to regulate e-cigs. They are losing tax revenue.”
The e-cig threatens their revenue just like high mileage cars. They tax the market to a point where it reacts then they whine and cry that there is not enough money.
I had tried to quit several times before I quit for good.
For example, people told me “The good news is, its over in less than a week (usually 2-3 days) - if you quit cold-turkey.”
Well, it wasn't over after a week. So I waited two weeks, then three, then four, then I decided they were either jerks or lying to me in their zeal to get me to quit, so I gave up and started smoking again.
When I finally quit smoking for good, it wasn't over after a month. It wasn't over after a year.
It's been twenty years since I quit and I still would love a cigarette.
Its easy to quit smoking, I did it 4 times last year alone!
Racquetball did the trick for me.
Of course I was a newbie and only smoked occasionally. One night I smoked about 5. The next day I played racquetball and it felt like my lungs were bleeding. Never even had the urge since.

This link has a scientific study. The liquid for e-cigarettes is nicotine, glycerine, and propylene glycol.

Actual abstract of the study.
what you say makes no medical sense- the nicotine is gone from your body in 2-3 days
Did you cheat at all? even one tiny puff? that sorta ruins the whole process
Cold-turkey means cut off 100%
it is NOT easy, I know, and I am not making light of your efforst
But medically 3-4 weeks is way past the point that there is any nicotine is left in your body.
Even heroin addicts are through with the withdrawals after 36 hours or so
I know what you mean though- after 20 years I could STILL go for a smoke some times... I just don’t
I quit when they were $2.50 a pack
Here in NY state they are close to $10 a pack now!!!!!
