I am watching the local city council meeting in San Diego and Filner has resigned, effective August 30, 2013.
What fool of a city council would give the idiot another 7 days to make them even more liable for more costs?
Filner is currently speaking and claiming he is the victim of a “lynch mob”. Said he has “never sexually harassed anyone”.
Now he needs to go to jail and get a little sexual harassment of his own. Sorry POS.
Good timing. He’ll be able to join the Tony Weiner campaign staff for 10 days of intensive campaigning before the election.

Here’s an opening for Bill Clinton. One thing he’s never been is a typical Dem female-groping mayor. Most Dem mayors are just content to be embezzlers like one female ex-mayor of San Diego named Maureen O’Connor who stole millions.

San Diego Mayor Bob Filner’s resignation deal is only effective if the City Council agrees to pay all his legal fees and any settlements that might stem from his numerous sexual harassment charges — a trade-off that could cost taxpayers big bucks, a local media outlet reported.
Council voted 7-0 to accept the deal with 2 members absent.

San Diego has had only 2 Democrat mayors in the last 40+ years. Maureen O’Connor the embezzler and Filner. What a set of bookends.

It's true. Legal fees and payouts for settlements and/or damages paid. City Attorney Jan Goldsmith is talking about it now. he did say that the city could seek reimbursement from Filner for any damages paid. But there is no guarantee it will do so and you can't get blood from a turnip.
