"Please, don't smile, you're creeping me out." Have you ever met or seen someone who strikes you as being dishonest or untrustworthy. This person seems aware that they repulse most people, and they overcompensate by trying to disarm you with a wide toothy grin. Sometimes our first impressions are wrong. I have often met folks who seemed cold or detached upon introduction, only to find out they have great compassion, but will take their time warming up to others. Most national leaders around the globe know this about dealing with americans. If you want to make friends with an American, it's usually quite easy, just "Hi!" then smile often when you speak to them. It's almost too easy.
Many of these people would be better off not smiling in public as much, because their actions make the smile look like a sinister warning or an unsettling and defiant act of smugness.
Some of the worst 'smile offenders' include the present Mayor of San Diego Bob (Filthy) Filner, now known to have sexually molested at least 18 women. Mr. Filner, it is rumored, will be stepping down from office later this week. You just know he has a 14K Golden Parachute retirement waiting for him, courtesy of the taxpayers. It is not my intention to say certain features are inherently 'bad' but The Mayors' toothy grin is annoyingly creepy and joker like, given what we now know.
Until Mayor Filner, Kermit Gosnell, the retired abortionist from Philidelphia, held the dubious honor of having the Smile Most Haunting and Inappropriate. Thoughout his trial, Mr. Gosnell face was seemingly frozen in a slight Mona Lisa type smile. Some speculate that the "Doctor", having had free access to many classes of drugs, had the forethought to "pill up" during his trial. The presumption is Gosnell was slightly high on Vicodin or something, anything that might kill the pain of acknowledging his crimes and his butcheries. Mr. Gosnell faces a long retirement in the prison system.
Earlier this year, during the spring, the formerly famous actor Jim Carrey stunned and angered many of his former fans when he made a video critical of gun owners. Jim has spent this whole year provoking and alienating people who used to like him, used to go see his films, back when he was more funny than pathetic. Jim Carrey has every right to say what he wishes to, but the public can vote with their dollars. The new movie 'Kick Ass" part 2 has flopped, it's failure probably due to Carrey's own insults and dismissals. Jim seems to have forgotten how a movie cast is a team, and how supporting each other is essential. The producer Jeff Wadlow (Katie Couric's nephew) is said to be understandably livid. Jim lewd, crude and rude video can't be excused with a wide and toothy grin, he's taken the hate too far.
Michelle Obama, I commend her for saying that the kids need to exercise, that much is true. My concern is that her plans are to empower the school systems to become more and more in charge of the child, nibbling away at removing parental control. Under Michelle Obama's dietary recommendations, many schools reported students were still hungry during the day. A lot of food was refused and thrown out uneaten. Most of Mrs. Obama's smiles seem forced and taped on. The tightlipped grimace is more her natural expression.
Your article calls for pictures. Just saying.
Tyranny always comes with a smiling face.
“Can ya dig it. Can ya dig it”. Goes along with “The Backstabbers” by the OJ’s
You’re correct. I still need to learn how to do that. I’ll have to ask somebody under 30 for help. I resisted the computer for a good long time, until recently, when it could not be avoided.
Oh, the shark, babe, has such teeth, dear
And it shows them pearly white
Tyranny always comes with a smiling face.
I'd guess it normally does today, though I can't recall a single photograph of Lenin smiling.
Yea, he always looks he just smelled someone farting.
Great song, great song.
I’d like to add Eliot Spitzer to the list, he’s got one of the fakest smiles I’ve even seen.
‘Don’t let the handshake and the smile fool you,
Take my advice-—they’re only tryin’ to screw ya!
The Man, keepin’ us down.
Geeze is that photo from Twilight Zone episode, 'Terror at 20,000 Feet' with William Shatner? I remembered the gremlin as being pretty scary looking, but I didn't remember it as being that hideous...
Thanks. It was right in the tip of my tongue. LOL!
I cheat and I seach Photobucket for the images I need because they have the HTML code all set to go on the right side of the image page. Try it! It’s really easy! You just click on the HTML link and it automatically copies to your clipboard for you. Then you just paste the code into your FR post.
And if you need a space then you use < > with a p between them.
That hominoid has eyes like a Horned Puff viper.
I loved that song.
Admit it. The ‘70s had great music.
Well, so did just about every era. I’m not picky about music.
