Fox TV and The Bridge to the Dream Act

Posted on 07/11/2013 11:30:18 AM PDT by A'elian' nation

I watched The Bridge last night on Fox TV. Half of the show was in Spanish with English subtitles. Another sign of the times.

Fox and Murdoch are gearing up to all the new incoming aliens once immigration reform is passed. They can probably give them a free TV as they cross the border.

Thanks for the warning. I’ll delete it from my DVR at once.

I tried watching it. Too much propaganda in it for me. There was no way I could make it through the whole show.

I haven't seen it, but isn't it set on both sides of the southern border? Using Spanish with English subtitles may just be for "realism."

Haven’t watched it yet. It’s sitting on my DVR. The only reason I recorded it was because it’s based on a Danish/Swedish program of the same name: Bron/Broen (2011). In the original series, a woman’s body is found on the bridge that connects Denmark and Sweden. Same scenario: body parts from two different women, cops from each country thrown together to investigate. A second season of the Danish/Swedish series is airing this fall. I managed to find the first series with hard-coded subs on a torrent site a while back.

Exactly, I suppose they could just speak English like the Klingons but realism is in these days. I think people are reading too much into stuff. Obviously some characters are gonna voice bleeding heart opinions on immigration and certain characters with the "wrong" opinions will be portrayed in a bad light, you can expect that from any show that even touches on anything political. The show is about the hunt for a wackjob serial killer with a seemingly bizarre political motive (apparently he thinks Mexican drug violence should be the US's problem) who though 2 episodes has killed an anti-illegals Judge, and innocent Mexican girl and whole bunch of illegals (with poisoned water left in the desert). I like it so far.

The mesmerizing Diane Kruger stars a chick detective with Asperger's syndrome. She was sitting around her apartment looking restless and I told her though the screen that she needed to get some, next scene she went out and picked a guy a bar and fornicated with him in the most business like way possible, fantastic. It's one of those "cops with opposite personalities" shows with her and this easy going Mexican detective. Overused genre but I like the 2 lead characters.
