They invaded somebody else's land and murdered millions in cold blood. No sympathy here. And yes, the Russian people during that episode in history demonstrated countless examples of heroism. I would call her and her fellow troops heroes. That does not imply their psychopath Georgian commander was any better than Hitler nor the system he ran any better than Nazism.
Just as a quiet reminder, the point of this entire posting is "ladies with guns". Care to comment on that? All I did was give one famous example. The horse you've been riding is well and truly dead. It may be time to stop beating it.

You pick your heroes, I’ll pick mine. Certainly, no Soviet murderers will be my heroes, “ladies” or otherwise.

Just in the interest of keeping the historical record straight Madame, ‘’Uncle Joe’’(Stalin) was quite content to stroll down the garden path with Old Adolph, invading eastern Poland on 9/17/39, snapping up the Baltic states and invading Finland. That is of course until Hitler, being the gangster he was, decided he didn’t need a partner in crime anymore. Nazis and Communists. Two scorpions in a bottle.
