In a trend accelerated by the recent recession and an increase in births to single mothers, nearly four in 10 families with children under the age of 18 are now headed by women who are the sole or primary breadwinners for their families, according to a report released Wednesday by the Pew Research Center.

The report reveals a sweeping change in traditional gender roles and family life over a few short decades: The number of married mothers who out-earn their husbands has nearly quadrupled, from 4 percent in 1960 to 15 percent in 2011. Single mothers, who are sole providers for their families, have tripled in number, from 7 to 25 percent in the same period. …

But the Pew Research report shows that Americans are decidedly ambivalent about mothers who work outside the home. Three-fourths of those surveyed say these mothers make raising children harder, and half worry that it’s bad for marriages. …

And the US government can take credit for that!

The US government actively promotes single women having children (through generous welfare programs), and through equal rights programs, the US government pushes compa it’s to promote women over better qualified men in the interest of “diversity.”

The destruction of the Nuclear Family was the goal, and "Feminism" (where men fooled women into "free sex") was the tool (along with Hollywood and the State-Run-Media promoting sexual "freedom"), and was achieved by making women easy sex partners, promoting welfare, and allowing favored treatment in hiring/firing (they are a "Minority", and can also play the "Sexual Harassment" card).

Marriage was destroyed when there is nothing special that can be between a man and a woman, that cannot be gained when there is no responsibility or obligation to women who have no control with their favors anymore.

Whether anyone will admit it or not, the purpose of marriage is COMMITMENT, and raising of a family of values....casual sex without consequence is now the norm, and if a "mishap" occurs as a result, you can legally kill the baby, and go on your merry way continuing Fluking without commitment.

I wonder about this type of blanket statistic.

My wife makes 4 times as much as I do, not that I am badly paid. Does that make her the bread winner in our household?

It does not include single woman....

Sure it does. FTA:

The number of married mothers who out-earn their husbands has nearly quadrupled, from 4 percent in 1960 to 15 percent in 2011. Single mothers, who are sole providers for their families, have tripled in number, from 7 to 25 percent in the same period. …

15% + 25% = the 40% of the headline, where single women are in fact the majority.

That’s what women wanted, right? Isn’t this why they emasculate boys from the cradle to adulthood and beyond?

If women want to pretend to be men, why wouldn’t men sit around the house all day smoking pot and watching TV? A man’s motivation for achievement and accomplishment is stripped away when all his life and from all directions he’s told that “women can do it just as well as you - or better!”
