Sure looks smooth for a wood coaster.

Wood coaster to me means, RR-type simple gravity contact between wheel and rail. Is this just that, or are there special mechanics to ensure the cars stay on track, as with what we call steel rides? Are they seriously relying on g forces to hold it on in twists and perpendicular angles?

Another note - seems this is a super short ride like King’s Domnion rides.

New coaster at Silver Dollar City? It's been a while since I was there last. Great family entertainment, sincerely. I especially love the water balloon catch with the little kids in the down-town. God Bless you "Street Troupe"!

The initial climb-out is the best part (except hurtling down for the hole in the ground on The Beast).

They took the loop out a few years ago, and just this past year they took the whole ride down.

Silver Dollar City was one of 2 family vacations my family could afford back in the day. With a family of 8, that vacation was etched in my mind forever.

Was there about 5 years ago and it’s still charming. Crowded, but charming.

Not truly “wooden”, wooden supports but a metal track.

They had to take the loop out — to ride the loop, they needed heavy trains, and the heavy trains were destroying the ride because the manufacturer built it with crappy wood.

Then, it just kept getting worse, they had to shut it down and fix multiple cracks and weak joints.

And they got it running again, but it would occasionally be very bumpy, and too many people complained, and they shut it down.

Then after a while of being closed, they tore it down.

Now they are about to build something else.

Reminds me of the “Cyclone” at Revere Beach, MA.

My girlfriend’s family OWNED it, so we would ride it over and over and over again.

I finally made it to the park the year after they removed the loop, unfortunately. I’d like to have been able to say I rode it with the loop.

But it was one of my favorite coasters, and they tore it down. I always sat in the front, where most wooden coasters are the smoothest.

We got stuck once halfway up the lift, but they got it working so we didn’t get to get off and walk down the hill.
