It would be nice to have statutory or other references cited so that those of interested in civil rights issues such as this have some starting point to verify, analyze independently, and if appropriate, agree.

The author obviously was referring to something, but never mentions that to which he was referring.

Credibility is in the details.

The author wrote an article not a couple of volumes explaining where the problems lie. It is up to the citizens of each state to prod their own legislators into protecting states rights. Each fight is a different fight because each state has different tools in their state constitutions to protect the citizens rights.
