Got this, didn't smell right, checked it out with Earthlink, it is rotten!
It asks for all your data, passwords etc.

Wow, Earthlink’s still around?
If it’s an email...it’s a scam.
Centurylink phishers have been attempting this with me for years.
I get e-mails like this on a daily basis for games I have never played. If they asked for your password, etc., it’s bogus.
I didn’t even know Earthlink was still around!
I got those scam emails for several years on a hotmail account, they looked official but I never answered a one. They finally stopped and I still have the account.
Always roll your mouse cursor over the link or mail information. It will show that the real link is not the same as the one on the screen.
I use Earthlink cable internet. I have for 15+ years. It is over Comcast’s lines now, but it is cheaper than Comcast.
“If they asked for your password, etc., its bogus.”
Hey! I didn’t ask for anyone’s passwords! It’s not me!
I left earthlink over 10 years ago. Anyone left on earthlink is an idiot
On occasion I get a phishing expedition wanting to know my PayPal login and password using the same approach.
I pose as an Vietnamese gentleman whose name is Phuc Hue and whose password is andyourhorse.
I get them once in a while and usually delete them right away.
Got one very similar from Comcast the other day. Almost the same wording.
The “click bellow” portion of the message was a dead giveaway.
Good catch, Swamp, sounds like a phishin’ expedition.
Thanks for the info.
FWIW my (cheaper than normal) high speed cable connection from Time Warner is a partnership between them and Earthlink.
Idiot, indeed!
