I don’t disagree with much that you say, except that I think it will be a much rougher road for them than they think. For example:

“More than a few are looking forward with pleasure to committing atrocities against conservatives.”

More than a few citizens are looking forward to slitting some petty tyrants’ throats as well, if the time comes. They won’t find the American people to be as sheepish as some suppose.

Don`t know about your state but in Ohio one can get a table at a gun show for about $15. If a person kept that receipt, it would be some proof that one sold off their collection to other private buyers at that show? Just, thinking.

Okay, so we don’t give up our guns willingly. I won’t. But then they make it illegal to bring an unregistered gun to a range. Illegal to transfer an unregistered weapon to anyone including relatives. Illegal to buy more than 20 rounds of ammunition at a time. Illegal to possess reloading supplies without permits requiring picture ID and fingerprinting. Illegal to do just about anything we enjoy now. And the sad part is the Obama “low comprehension” voters will support every step they take. I don’t know the answer but it sure seems like they can whittle us down with small steps over time regardless of what we do.

Likewise. United we stand, divided we fall. And BATF won’t be getting any help or backup from any Sheriffs or Police out here in West Texas.

Re your post 36. I am not a dope. I am just very, very weary of the stupid, unfunny, and hackneyed talk about the guns and the boats. It’s been overworked. It may have been mildly humorous in 1999 but it’s not now. One would think that Freepers would be tired of it by now but I would think wrong.

When I posted the remarks to you I did it with a little trepidation since I recognized your screen name and did not think that you would be among those who thought the lost-all-my-guns-in-a-TRAGIC-accident “joke” was a belly laugh, but I went ahead anyway. Sorry.

Believe it or not but the OldPossum does have a sense of humor. It’s just that old jokes wear thin.

I have been interested in reading it but it seems to be priced ridiculously high.

I’m not sure how the feds can enforce this if the states don’t go along. Sort of like federal anti-marijuana laws in WA and CO.

I guess it will come down to a significant police action against the citizenry to remove all of our guns. You have to know that they will use overwhelming force, and it will probably be military. That’s right, a marine (or army) rifle company will be the ones coming down your street going house to house. That is why we should get behind this “fiscal cliff” fiasco, and encourage defense spending to be cut in the sequestration process. Moreover, we should begin to organize and hold protests against the “patriot act” which will enable them to bypass posse commitatus at will, and cause many of our liberties to be swept away by executive order. The time is now to remove these tools of government abuse.

In that light of thinking, we have to realize that the current government of the US is no longer the government that has our best interests at heart, and are now an enemy of the people. Along those lines, we should wholeheartedly adopt the Cloward-Piven strategy and seek to cause as much disorder as possible within, to cause this government to fall. We know that the government is starving for revenue, and that they couldn’t survive very long, once their ability to collect taxes comes under duress. They won’t be able to pay their soldiers with money that they’re printing and is becoming worth less and less each day. The military will turn their guns, at that point, against the politicians and bureaucrats. Unfortunately, many of these things run counter to everything we were raised to believe, and it will be hard if not impossible to get all of our conservative brethren to see the correctness of our cause and our methods. In the beginning of the revolution the same was true of the originating patriots. Begin organizing in your local town, and get your friends on board, and commit yourselves to a mutual defense pact. We will find ways to crack this nut, and I hope they don’t involve the draconian measures as outline above, but I fear, at this point, it is the only way. Yep, this will get me moved up towards the top of the list I am already on, but I am proud to be on the list, and the higher I rise, the more proud I will be.

“It won’t pass anyway.”

It will pass in the Senate, easily. (Remember, the filibuster goes away in January).

The only firewall that exists is the House. EVERY ‘rat there will be a guaranteed vote for gun control (if Obama demands it of them). But so long as the Republicans hang together, it can’t pass.

At least not until January 2015. And DEFINITELY expect them to try again if they win the House in ‘14. It will become priority #1...

“Time to read or re-read Unintended Consequences.”

Reading it now (up to page 200).

Very good, so far.

No it does not!

Anyone saying it does needs to quote actual law - which they can’t because it doesn’t exist.

Mind you, if you have an NFA gun and no Form 4 life could get very difficult fast.

“I have been interested in reading it but it seems to be priced ridiculously high.”

Open a google search page.

Enter the title + “pdf” in your search string.

Try the first few hits.

‘Nuff said ‘bout that.

“That’s right, a marine (or army) rifle company will be the ones coming down your street going house to house. That is why we should get behind this “fiscal cliff” fiasco, and encourage defense spending to be cut in the sequestration process.”

You are a wise man.

Freepers, by their nature, support the United States military. But they also may overlook how corrupted is is becoming under the Obammunists, and how this will only grow worse in the years to come.

At one time, it would be blasphemy for someone to come into this forum and proclaim, “cut the military!”.

But these are extraordinary times.

The way things are going, perhaps the best course of action would be to limit the amount of funding that Obama has for his military (notice that I chose to use the wording “his” military vs. “ours”). Reduce their funding, and they will have less to work with — and insofar as gun confiscation may end up going, funding with which “to work” will be used against us.

If it ever comes down to out-and-out “confiscation”, I would expect their modus operandi to be something akin to the Little Rock school desegregation standoff in the fifties. That is, the feds will pick one city (probably southern), and go in with a carefully-chosen force, NOT to include soldiers of southern background. I would expect such a unit to also contain significant numbers of (cough) “his people”. There will be resistance, and it will be put down, to set an example for everyone else watching.

Let the sequestration of funding for the military happen. It will have the same effect on the left’s military ambitions as it would have if we cut funding to the EPA.

Starve the beast...
