To those people saying every unit the bidders acquire has hidden gems, you only have to watch Barry’s acquisitions to know that’s not true. Most of Barry’s units yield only junk...which I’m sure most of the other units won by other bidders do as well. The way Brandi and Jarryd talked about their job, it sounded like it was a lot of hard work to make a few bucks. Very few treasures found.

And a lot of the treasures revolve around the buyer having that little piece of knowledge. The ability to know that isn’t just any ugly painting, it’s an ugly painting by a semi-famous guy with a following. And of course there’s tales like that all the time, yard sale masterpieces. You always have to wonder how many treasures wind up in the landfill because the wrong person got... which of course is part of how these treasures get made. Anybody in a collectible business knows the more people that think something is collectible the less it really is because that means fewer items get thrown out so they don’t become rare.
