My list is about the same as yours, just different brands. For the S&W 686, I would substitute a more concealable snubby revolver.

Colt Rail Gun (.45), Beretta 92fs (9mm), M4gery (5.56mm), Rem 11-87 (12 gauge), and M24 (.300 Win Mag).

These have the ability to reach out and touch someone from inches to 1000 meters. They can be used for everything from small to big game, less perhaps elephants. There is an abundance of ammo to be scavanged for the first four if the SHTF.

Already have

Ruger 10/22 w/ scope
Ruger Mini 14 with cold weather mags
Mossberg 500

Want to acquire

Ruger Mini 30
Any 9mm handgun

I like to consider what ammo will be most common when the SHTF.

Saiga 7.62 x 39mm
Remington 870
S&W 29/2 .44 Magnum
Rock Island Armory 1911
Charter Arms Bulldog Pug .44 Special
Ruger 10/22

Oops, that’s more than five. I want my S&W 686+ back too.

I’d go with my M1A NM, one of the ARs, the Browning A5, the HK USPc in .40, and the High Standard Supermatic Citation.

I reload, so I can download the AR to .22 LR ballistics, but I’d still want a .22 LR, and target pistols are fun. The USPc is about the biggest weapon that I can, and do, carry concealed.

The remainder are just your basic standard long guns, and are well suited to the wooded environment where I live.

Considering getting a SKS 7.62 for larger game and ‘predators’.
Any opinions or advice?
