After having no phone service availble twice on wireless during emergencies I am going back to having a plain old everyday wired home phone.

Having dependable communications is exactly why we have our landline, too. We’re rather remote and experience power outages often and for long periods of time. We depend on the landline to keep in contact with everyone, including the Electric Utility.
