My wife an I saw a mountain lion about 14 months ago in Connecticut near the Massachusetts line.
Sorry I didn’t include a gratuitous cougar joke, I figure there will be plenty.

There have been some local sightings here in southern Michigan (Jackson, Calhoun, Washtenaw, Hillsdale, and Lenewee counties) Nothing confirmed.
We did have black bears confirmed in the area last year and if chatter at the post office is to be believed, the coyote population is fixin to shrink.

I drive through this area frequently. There is a huge County Forest Preserve in the area, Busse Woods. It is connected to a huge web of other Forest Preserves, local parks, and a long series of rivers and lakes. There is, in fact, a size able herd of Elk in this area.
I imagine those will be on the kitty menu soon.
