Say Sandy, can I ask you a question? You got a moment?

Which team do you play for? Because I was just wonderin ... You live in the most important state in the most important election ... and you're crying?

Are you crying? THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL.

Now, I want you to go back to right field, and when it's your turn to vote, vote so hard you almost break the machine.

Think how conservatives must have felt when FDR was elected a third and a fourth time. Would they have believed that someday Reagan would be president?

Take the long view. The bad guys win some battles. The good guys ultimately win the war. God said so.

You live in Iowa, battleground state. Make sure you vote and vote early. And encourage your friends and relatives to do the same. You can't allow the MSM to discourage you. This is the most important election of our lifetime and we need to act and not be immobilized by fear and sadness.

Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

We stood all alone a year ago, and to many countries it seemed that our account was closed, we were finished. All this tradition of ours, our songs, our School history, this part of the history of this country, were gone and finished and liquidated.

Very different is the mood today. Britain, other nations thought, had drawn a sponge across her slate. But instead our country stood in the gap. There was no flinching and no thought of giving in; and by what seemed almost a miracle to those outside these Islands, though we ourselves never doubted it, we now find ourselves in a position where I say that we can be sure that we have only to persevere to conquer.

Do not let us speak of darker days: let us speak rather of sterner days. These are not dark days; these are great days—the greatest days our country has ever lived; and we must all thank God that we have been allowed, each of us according to our stations, to play a part in making these days memorable in the history of our race.

Winston Churchill, 1941

I'm also beginning to get that feeling in the pit of my stomach. I pray every day for Our Country, and I'm beginning to think Divine Intervention may be the only thing that saves us from ourselves.

AN APPEAL TO HEAVEN!

That’s correct. Anytime you put your trust or faith in man or man run things (America, government, the GOP, the media, etc.) you are going to get let down. Put your trust in God and set your sights on eternal things and all these other things going on are put into perspective.

Stop focusing on our Country and the hopeless political and financial future we face. Stop focusing on which loser (Romney or Obama) will win.

Just stop it.

Instead you and your family must focus on the greater hope that God has promised for His children. You can’t change the whole world, as its going to hell. But you can change your focus, your direction, your priorities and values.

And that starts with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Once you have that, all this other stuff is not worth crying about.

The odds that Romney will lose are very, very low. The MSM is leading you by the nose like a sucker. If we lose it will be because people like you agreed to lose. Grow a spine. Can you say president Romney?

Somebody on Fox and Friends this morning explained that the polls are skewed based on voter turnout in the last presidential election. Obama’s old news to his base.

This poll news is getting much heavier rotation than it would because it is trying to discourage anti-Obama voters from showing up. If you feel like you say you do, it might be working.

Despair is a sin. Trust in God.

Sandy is an example of what operation demoralize does. The NAZIS perfected this, now the MSM in conjunction with Zero are carrying it out on the US electorate. Using bogus polls to tell a lie, often enough and loud enough, till people think it is the truth. Apparently from Sandy’s post it is beginning to work on some.

Sounds like - at least in your case - the media is getting their desired effect (dispirit Republicans) out of these suspect polls.

Suggest you read How Carter Beat Reagan and the games the media was playing with polls back then. Maybe it will give you some solace.

This was posted by me in another thread about polls:

Well, Hamilton, the polls have been driving me crazy.

They have literally been making me hate my country and the people in it.

I think to myself, why is this happening? What is the cause?

Does the media report news, does the media shape opinion, or is it engaged in outright mind control operations?

If it is engaged in opinion shaping and mind control, how does it do that?

It does it by a number of methods, such as lying, non-reporting of things that should be reported, the strategic lifting of an eyebrow or other physical gestures, and of course by the non stop reporting of polls.

What do the polls do? Well, if you are not an Obama supporter, they tell you that you are in the minority. They tell you a majority of Americans do not think as you do, and they do not agree with you.

Humans are social animals. No one wants to be in a minority. No one wants to be in the out crowd, people want to be in the in crowd. Certainly there are some people who aren’t like this, but most people are weaker willed in this regard, and they can easily be pushed into going along with the crowd.

This is psycholigical warfare being

The left hates good/conservatives/christians/constitutionalists more than they love their country.. they are shallow thinkers and are not able to go any deeper than their hatred. Remember Carter’s polls showed him ahead of Reagan and the media said Reagan could not win. He won in a landslide. Wisconsin voters proved the polls to be wrong also.

Don’t give up... there are still more of us than there are of them.

Well I try to use common sense; His star has faded, of that there is no doubt, and all those who voted for him last time are going to turn out less. Whether it will be much less or a little less, who knows. But I cannot possibly fathom there being the same amount of people who will vote for him as last time.

While on the other hand, he’s been such an incredible F up that I would imagine MORE people than usual are going to turn up just to vote him out. If that is not the case, then this country is already screwed whether he is voted in or not because it tells me there are more socialists, commies, anarchists, radical muslims, and general wackos than there are sane people.

SandyLynn,

Please, if you are not a Christian, give yourself to Jesus. He will fill you with Himself, who is our living hope. (1 Peter 1:3) By turning from your sins, say a prayer, asking Jesus to forgive you, and asking Him to save you and come into your life. He has promised to be with those who have no hope. Your joy will transcend all these things that are happening on earth. Give your attention all to Jesus and obey Him in what He would want you to do.

If you have questions, I will try to answer them.

It is not uncommon to have days where we feel down or feel despair. But when that happens to me, I turn to my spouse, a friend or to my pastor. Sometimes I just tune into my own thoughts and ‘shake’ myself out of the funk.I try to push past the hopeless thoughts and remind myself to be thankful for what I DO have. Take care of what I CAN control.

I have no idea what is going to happen on Nov 7. But to me, it seems self-defeating to let the other guys think they have the upper hand. Whatever happen on Nov 7...I will still be standing up for what I believe in and work to create a better future for my family.

I hope you feel less despair soon....for your sake and for your family’s sake.

Please don’t say despair is a sin. It’s a feeling. It’s what we do with the feeling that counts.

You are right to trust in God. The advice I would give to the Lady who cried last night is to pray for the best and prepare her life for the worst.

I'm sad to say, it doesn't really matter who gets elected.

The hole is too deep and we are too close to the cliff.

So it will be crying time for a long while. It's too late for "which politician" to make a difference.
