Your caricature of his remarks seems to be more of an indication of your own presuppositions, agenda, and/or bias than any reasonable interpretation of what he actually said. While what he said was stated rather clumsily, if you don't think that stress, not to mention the trauma of actual rape has any effect on fertility rates then you are the one ignorant of the available scientific data on the subject. Google stress infertility sometime.
Todd Akin is a friend of mine who has tremendously helped me and my family, so naturally I don't appreciate your mischaracterization of his remarks here, not to mention the thinly veiled profanity directed against him by those on this thread whom you think makes so much sense.
I apologize; I shouldn’t have used those words.
I just get extremely agitated when the Dems (AND, as it turns out, people like Karl Rove, who I have no use for) get served the red meat that they’re hungering for-—all the argument they need to allow the Left to use Akin’s no compromise position as proof that we , Conservatives AND Republicans,
are socially regressive, and ready to impose BY LAW their hardline views on ALL AMERICAN WOMEN. At this particular moment, it plays right into the current demagoguery of “The War on Women”, a joke if there ever was one. WHY give them anything they can use like that?
I did not make that comment
