I recorded it and tried to watch it, but cranky hubby wants to watch other stuff.
I’ll check back to this thread later, after I’ve seen it. (Spoiler avoidance)
I set it up to record the series.
Having been raised a Roman Catholic I know very little about the Bible, so I’m hoping to learn!

I was raised Catholic too and have taken a lot of Bible study classes. Now I teach them.
You can learn the Bible. Open it up on your coffee table and read a little bit each day.

The Bible has 31,731 verses. If you read an average of one verse per second, you can read the whole Bible in about nine hours.

I also watched the interview with Jeff Foxworthy a few nights ago on the 700 Club concerning this program. He's a good man and I'm glad to see that God's Word is getting such widespread exposure. I'm a big fan of Southern Gospel music and there are a lot of us "rednecks" who like that style of praise unto the Lord.
Go Jeff Go!

It was good! I’m a lightweight on the Bible, because the lineage stumps me. I found that with the “Women Of The Bible” segment toward the end of the show.

I LOVED IT! Loves the Gospel music, I was rockin with the Lord!!!
I felt bad for the Gospel Geezers and the Suburban(I forgot the rest of their name). The one woman from Minnies Kitchen was hoot. I’m happy they won.
I missed the “What was on the table at the Last Supper”? I got it wrong. I said towel, table and olive oil. :(

I have heard a RC priest say it’s not for the flock to read the Bible, but for him to do it then explain.

You got that right. Chuck Swindoll is awesome. I got hold of a tape he did about Romans 8 about the time I was coming to the Lord. That tape changed my life.

I really enjoyed the show. Fun to watch. But the winning team had a lady that celebrated way over the top—it was a distraction. I would think the producers would ask her to turn it down some.
I am an old guy that usually watches Gunsmoke and Ice pilots. Both my wife and I found the show entertaining—I think Jeff F could step it up some—with some antics like the old Gong Show. Not bad for his first attempt.

Two friends of mine in different states both said they were not encouraged to read the Bible on their own. It was their understanding that priests would disseminate what was appropriate for them to know.
