Interesting to realize that almost everything our government says to us is dishonest, misleading, disinformation, or an outright lie.

Only the most innocous details are truthful. If we are supposed to be their masters, and almost everything they do is filled with deceit, that implies some very bad things.

For example, projecting your own movement as mainstream, and your opponent's as fringe.

This is done in spades in catastrophic anthropogenic climate alarmism. The "97%" of scientists or whatever, came from a self-selected survey and even then misrepresented what they stood for. Most scientists agree with AGW, but there is little agreement on the extent so far (trivial) or in the future (not much) or effects (benign). But all alarmist articles with ridicuous speculation like "low sea ice causes blocking" are said to belong to the 97% consensus.
