Dan Aykroyd has finally given up hope that Bill Murray will be part of 'Ghostbusters 3'.
"I can tell you he won't be involved," Aykroyd tells MetroUK. "It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation."
"Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill. My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on. It's time to make the third one."
"Now we've got the studio on side. We've tried a few concepts which weren't right but now we've got a good structure and will make it happen."
"We've got a brilliant new writer on it and we'll be passing the torch on to a new generation," he explains. "We're working on it to make it just right to satisfy our fans. I'm confident we'll be in production in the next year."

Last I’d read, Murray had run a script through the shredder and mailed it back to the others. :’) The second one sucked, and was over twenty years ago.

Yeah, and he’s actually pretty respected on the arthouse scene these days, he’s become a critically successful actor doing really good movies nobody watches.

Why are they doing this?? They should have stopped after the first one. Geez, they beat these movie franchises to death. They can’t seem to come up with anything original, just sequels and remakes.
Just wait, I bet they unload at least three more Batman movies. I don’t think that rodent hybrid is ever going to die.

And of course now one of the Ghostbusters just has to be a woman, and she’ll be the smart one.

Murray wasn’t supposed to be in the original either. But why are they making another anyway? GB2 was stupid.
