Diacetyl??? Crap, that is in every bad batch of beer I have ever brewed. I am doomed.
Yup, my first lager tasted like movie popcorn butter because I pitched the yeast at too high of temperature. Make a note, don’t pitch at 70 degrees like the package recommends. Now I run it through the chiller down to about 50. Much cleaner.
