I never thought I'd be posting an article from Robert Reich, but the gnome may be onto something.

The way we get good jobs back is with a national strategy to make Americans more competitive — retooling our schools, getting more of our young people through college or giving them a first-class technical education, remaking our infrastructure, and thereby guaranteeing a large share of Americans add significant value to the global economy.

Well, some of Reich says may be right, but the above is pure, unadulterated leftist BullObama.

The way you get good jobs is simplifying and reducing regulation and government charges and taxes at all levels...and allowing businesses to keep more of their gross revenue

Reich is still alive? Who Knew?

I thought he got stepped on and squashed on a street in Manhattan!

Well now, don’t that just beat all.

the gnome may be onto something.

He sure is, if by "something" you mean higher taxes, higher national debt, pouring more and more money into the rat hole that is public education, pushing ever more mental defectives through worse-than-useless colleges, hiring legions more government "workers" to suckle on the government tit through increased infrastructure spending, and on and on ...

No; Alexander Hamilton was on to something.
Not only the wealth, but the independence and security of a country, appear to be materially connected with the prosperity of manufactures. Every nation, with a view to those great objects, ought to endeavor to possess within itself all the essentials of national supply. These comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and defense.
