Many animal lovers find it hard to part with their pets when they die. So when cat Orville, named after the famous aviator Orville Wright, was run over by a car, his artist owner decided to turn him into a permanent piece of artwork as the ultimate tribute by transforming him into a flying helicopter. Dutch artist Bart Jansen first stuffed Orville before teaming up with radio control helicopter flyer Arjen Beltman to build a specially-designed flying mechanism to attach to the cat. The end result, named the Orvillecopter, is now on show at the Kunstrai art festival in Amsterdam where visitors can watch Orville flying for themselves. Jansen said the Orvillecopter is 'half cat, half machine', and part of a visual art project to pay tribute to his cat Orville. Jansen, part of the art cooperative Generaal Pardon, said: 'After a period of mourning he received his propellers posthumously.' He added that Orville will soon be 'flying with the birds' stating: 'Oh how he loved birds. He will receive more powerful engines and larger props for his birthday. So this hopping will soon change into steady flight.'

This is some funny stuff!
See, THIS is why I luvs my internets!
This guy is sick.
Let the animal rest in peace.
I can’t wait for the “Hover Squirrel”...!
How morbid!
The man is playing with a dead animal. How sick is that?
Disgusting, sad. Wouldn’t have been hit by a car if he had kept his cat inside.
I see a future trend all across America.
Recently departed porcine pets turned into drones that will attack radical Moslims.
Its all about psychological warfare.
I am a cat lover myself and while this is funnier than shiite its also somewhat tacky.
At the very least give the kitty some offensive firepower against zombies. Or become a bomber with paintballs filled with ammonia and bleach. Or a custom aluminum barrel 410 autoloading shotgun. Something to counter federal drones?
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if poor Orville’s “accident” wasn’t somehow manufactured by this envelope pusher
kitty ping
Oy, it’s like photoshop without the photoshopping.
What to do with this one? Buzz the dog?
When I was a kid, only 40 years ago, it was an honor to be called an artist. The word connoted artistic talent. Most people then correctly regarded modern “art” as a joke.
Today, being called an artist is embarrassing. My 17-year-old says that when she hears someone describe themselves as an “artist,” she thinks, “Which kind are you, a real artist or a crap artist?
I prefer the term illustrator. But they’re working on destroying that word to.
okay
No zot intended, but couldn't resist posting this flying cat!
Somewhere, in some basement there is a weird little man, sitting at a workbench thinking to himself, “when pigs fly?, indeed.”
.
I could see it if the cat was named “Sikorsky” or “Huey”.
Nothing like combining two of my favorite topics, aviation and taxidermy.
YouTube link. I love it when he’s buzzing the cows.
A few pings.
Heh! You got very, very close. See the video I linked in my previous post.
