We have been in probate court for over a year now. Hubby’s sis has stolen about $300k that has been documented so far. It is not fine! His Dad is still alive and has dementia. She stole Dad’s monies. And even if Dad had passed the trust states that 50% is to go to hubby, not all of it to sis. That is the way Dad wanted it and that is the way it is going to be.

Isn’t that a criminal offence and won’t your sister-in-law be going to jail?

My very close friend is fighting a fight like yours. He says it’s about the principle of the matter, and is rich enough not to care how much he pays the lawyers. He wants to punish his sisters. My attitude is different: it’s not my money anyway, and bad people naturally do evil unto themselves. Why would I waste even 10k on lawyers to fight my own sister? Nope. While my buddy flies all over the map and does anything in his power to do justice, my attitude is to honor the man who made the money by acquiescing. In the end, whether it’s a pair of cowboy boots or a million dollars, it’s just not worth it. (To me.)
