Naked unicyclist arrested on Kemah (Texas) bridge (Yes, there is a picture)

KEMAH — Police headquarters became flooded with calls Wednesday reporting a naked man riding a unicycle across the state Highway 146 bridge from Kemah into Seabrook, authorities said.

A passer-by snapped a photograph of the man, who was shown sporting only a tan line, as he cycled north across the bridge that spans the Clear Lake channel, Kemah police Chief Greg Rikard said.

Police arrested the man at 1:32 p.m. before he made it to the top of the bridge, Rikard said.

Bond for Joseph Glynn Farley, 45, of Clear Lake, was set at $1,500 on the Class B misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure, Rikard said. Farley wasn’t intoxicated, Rikard said.

“He’d been riding during the week, and I saw him this past Saturday as I was traveling to Seabrook,” Rikard said.

Officers stopped the rider shortly before he was accused of disrobing at the base of the bridge in Kemah.

“He was falling off into traffic, and officers said he couldn’t ride it over the bridge,” Rikard said. “It was a hazard. We left the scene, and it wasn’t 10 minutes later we got a call saying he was now naked.”

A delivery driver and two other residents stopped at the police station to report the uni-streaker about the same time many callers were reporting it to police dispatchers.

“We asked him why he did it,” Rikard said. “He said he liked the way it felt.”

Rikard escorted the man, wrapped in a blanket, from a police car to jail. Police found his clothes at the base of the bridge, Rikard said.

Could you please correct the spelling of the word picture in the title.

Unless you “No Thanks” this thread based on this picture itself.

Thanks.

I’m guessing there isn’t very much to get in the way of his unicycle seat.

No where in the Constitution is it written that a person genetically predisposed to doing so, may not unicycle naked in public. This man's civil rights have been violated. Its high time to recognize and formally legalize the right to unicycle naked. (/s ... just in case)

That’s a tall bridge. Getting a unicycle with almost no mechanical advantage up there would be a serious workout. Maybe he just needed to shed the weight of his clothing.

...and bicycling naked; don’t forget bicycling. Females only, of course. Goes without saying.

Absolutely, especially since:

“We asked him why he did it,” Rikard said. “He said he liked the way it felt.”

You know - Life, Liberty and the PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.

It is in the Constitution. Case closed. /s

Hey, he's probably a member of NANMBLA - North American Naked Man Bicycle Love Association. Soon to be a protected minority eligible for affirmative action programs.

The cops stopped him because he doesn’t have a helmet on.

At Burning Man, they have a topless or full nude bike parade every year for the ladies. Mostly bikes but also some cool cars and floats. Just miles and miles of beautiful ladies that stretch beyond where your eyes can see.

You haven’t lived until you cruise through the open desert on a space shuttle surrounded by naked beauties dancing wing-to-wing.

I read Battlefield Earth (Hubbard’s only decent book) while waiting for the drawbridge. I left Seabrook in ‘83 but still have friends there. Used to ride my bicycle from Seabrook to the mall (baybrook) on weekends.
