Are Hannity, Rush, and the big talkers playing us for $$$? (vanity)

Posted on 05/01/2012 8:41:51 PM PDT by teg_76

Do you ever get the feeling that Rush and Hannity don't really care who wins, just as long as their dollars keep rolling in from us tea party saps. Besides Mark Levin, what prominent talker has gone out on a limb and endorsed true conservative candidates? Everyday we have to here Hannity interview the John McCains of the world. If he truly believed in the conservative movement, wouldn't he be out there trumpeting Richard Mourdock and Don Stenberg like Levin is?

As for Rush, he is more interested in commercializing the tea party movement with his "Two if by tea" than promoting it.

Besides Mark Levin, they're all sellouts just like the Republican leadership...looking out for their own career over the well being of the country.

Eric Cantor with his support of Richard Lugar and Adam Kinzinger in their primaries is consolidating moderate, establishment support behind his ambition to be speaker some day. But Hannity is more interested in a softball interview with him than evicerating him for his actions.

There are very few leaders in our movement.

What’s your beef with Rush? He doesn’t do interviews, so that part of your argument is out and he came as close to a Primary endorsement he has ever had with Santorum. I don’t feel played at all.

Rush is as patriotic as any American that I know.
He is also a great spokesman for the conservative movement.

Ditto that.

Rush must contain himself. Sometimes when he’s discussing liberal politicians and 0bama, he almost lets go full force.

Yes, but Rush to his credit is pretty open about it. I don’t think he is joking one whit about bolting if the bottom drops out, and why not? Who would not if the option were there? He has also paid his dues and busted the crap out of many a leftist when he is not, in his own words “carrying water” for the Geriatric Old Plantation.

Hannity . . . Don’t like him for a number of reasons so I will withold comment. I don’t think I can be objective about him.

Ya... we just hate it when people make a name for themselves and make money by promoting their ideas.

Greedy Capitalists promoting ideas just because it sells.

someone should stop them

The conservative philosophy has a couple of really great evangelists preaching the gospel every day, but there's always some genius who comes along and thinks they can do it better.

Yes....

I’ve gotten to where I don’t take talk radio hosts or news networks seriously, especially if I know they are slanted in one way or another.... Even if it’s a ‘slant’ I agree with.

It’s so easy to turn on virtually any news broadcast(cable or network) and see that they are attempting to manipulate people.

“Two if by tea”...come on.

If the radical Left has payed activist working 80 hour weeks to take you off the air and scare off your sponsors, wouldn't it be a fair move to have a backup revenue stream?

I know. Crazy. That scenario could never happen, right?

Have you ever listen to Rush? If so, have you listened to him for long? If you can’t answer yes to both then you have no Idea what you are talking about. If you are truthful and can answer, “yes” to both then I feel sorry for you ... you obviously have missed the point.

As for Hannity, I don’t get to listen to him often, but I would put him in the same category as Rush.

One way to look at it is we are using them to get our ideas out. If they get too far from home, they go the way of BOR and leave the radio. Fox has their own rules, as we saw with Glenn Beck. Now he can be as crazy as he wants to be, but while at Fox, he was "handled".

In a marketplace of ideas, the bad ideas go away eventually. CNN. MSNBC, and others are examples of that. There is absolutely nothing to stop you from blogging, becoming a writer, or becoming a talk show host. To keep an audience, you would have to keep some opinions close to your vest. Savage and Stein prove that. Levin is the only one that can call someone a liar, or communist and get back on the air the next day. I think hat's because he's a lawyer and leaves a way out. Look at what's happened to Anne Coulter. I bet her next book isn't quite the best seller she is used to.

All Hannity cares about is how many football tosses he can get into his 1 hour time slot. Yeah yeah shoot your arrows but Glenn Beck is one of the few who actually believes in his message and has forgone big $$$ to do so.

The only one I listen to regularly is Rush. I don’t get to listen to all of every show by any means, but you only have to listen for a few minutes to know how much he wants Obama to be defeated. If you have listened to Rush for as many years as I have, you know that he never endorses anyone in the primary, but will support the eventual nominee because that is the best way to defeat the liberal agenda. BTW, one reason Ruah started his “Two If By Tea” company was to prove that the entrepreneurial spirit is still alive and well in America.
