"Sarah Palin has the misfortune of being attractive, thus this alienates her with many woman voters, who see her as a "rival" for the affections of men in their lives. From a man's point of view, this sounds totally ludicrous. However, I am made to understand by women in my life that little angers them more than to see women more attractive than themselves achieve positions of power. In their minds, very attractive women have a duty to remain in subservient roles"

As a woman, I have to say that way of female-thinking makes no sense to me. My husband thinks Sarah Palin is beautiful, and it doesn't bother me a bit---she IS!

The women in my husband's family mystify me, though. They are all very beautiful women, even my MIL as she ages, and they used to adore Sarah. Now they can't stand her. I can't figure it out.

It really is strange. I see it in my workplace as well, to a certain extent. I've actually had female employees (I'm a manager) come to me and request not to have to report to a female manager.

Now if a male employee came to me and said he would refuse to report to a female manager, we would have an HR issue. But with woman employees, it's just not worth the battle and most male managers don't mind having female employees report under them so it kind of works out.

My wife says it's the "Queen Bee" syndrome but she can't put into words what that means (that makes sense to me). She also prefers having a male manager because she hates having to report to another woman.

I am no expert on women (no man is, obviously), but I had thought that as VP Sarah might be less unappealing to that aspect of female psychology than she would be at the top of the ticket simply because she would be subordinate to a man (the President) in a relationship where she could act as a positive influence, a conscience and a backbone in places where he (especially if it is Mitt) would definitely need one.

I. DO. NOT. TRUST. MITT. ROMNEY!!!

That being said, it does look like he is going to be the nominee. If he IS the nominee and he doesn’t have a firm hand watching him, it’s going to be a charlie-fox, even if we win. With Sarah on the ticket, I would feel much safer and more confident that he would do what he was elected to do because she would make his life pure Hell if he didn’t.

Now, people have talked a lot about Colonel West. My problem with the Colonel is that he is a colonel. He’s safety-wired into the “yessir” mode when it comes to orders from on high. I don’t think he would be inclined to object strenuously when Mitt veered into mushy RINO territory. He would, however, be perfect as SecState or even SecDef.
