and I pay state taxes for what reason? I pay federal taxes for what reason? you people are so hung up on “Home School” as the solution to ANY problem and it really does get tiresome dealing with you. the practicality of what you suggest EVERYONE does is impossible anyway.

I didn’t say everyone has to “homeschool”, which is in fact a term that covers a number of educational practices. I’m for any alternative to government schools, not just homeschooling.
As for the “practicality” of finding an alternative to government schools, “practicality” is just an excuse for maintaining a comfortable status quo.
The actual expenditure per year per child in government schools is above $10k/ year. Very, very few people pay enough in taxes to cover that and everything else governments do. As a result, people with children in government schools are receiving transfer payments from businesses, people with no children, and people who take responsibility for providing their children with an education outside of the government sector. Transfer payments are welfare.
