“The three West Australian men boarded the Shonan Maru No.2 in the early hours of Sunday morning off the coast of Bunbury in an attempt to force it to abandon its pursuit of the Sea Shepherd ship Steve Irwin.”
Can’t you still hang pirates?
Tell the Aussies that they can have them and then throw then overboard.
I see that you seem to have a ping list on this subject...
I hope they have been “keel hauled”!
Evidently the Aussies didn’t learn much from the Somali pirates.
Keelhaul them.
The world is a vampire, sent to drain
Secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames
And what do I get, for my pain?
Betrayed desires, and a piece of the game
The Japanese should declare the Australian activists as pirates and subject to trial as such.
bttt
They aren’t pirates, they are stowaways in the eyes of the law. There is no reason for the ship to terminate its voyage for their sake.
In prison, feed the pirates whale innards soup every day. No whales caught, no eats.
Unfortunately no. The US led an international initiative back in the 19th century to ban the practice of allowing sea captains the power of life and death. Pirates have to be taken to a court on land now. The sore spot for the US back then was the British preference for hanging pirates on the islands of the North Carolina Outer Banks.
The “artic whale sanctuary” that the Aussies claim the Japanese are poaching on is bogus. It is only recognised by United Kingdom, New Zealand, France and Norway.
That is why no matter how much the Aussies screech, you won’t see any Aussie effort to interdict Japanese whaling ships.
My guess is that these 3 boarders will be in for a very long, uncomfortable voyage, and will wind up in Japan.
Clearly, the Japanese government lost face when they gave a suspended sentence to the last anti-whaling pirate to board a Japanese flagged vessel after ramming it with his boat in an effort to sell it to the insurance company.
Because of their politeness and charity, their courtesy is now being abused, and is being used to insult the Japanese people.
Therefore, these pirates should be punished to the full extent of Japanese law. To do otherwise will result in similar or perhaps worse affronts.
Maybe you can’t hang them. But i see no problem with marooning them. Find some small antartic island, and put ‘em ashore with some food and sleeping bags. Sail away,, when you get to Japan, notify the Aussies where they are (if you think about it.)
In fact I do. I linked this article in this previous thread about the brouhaha. I have added a link to this thread. Thanks for the ping.
What happens at sea, stays at sea.
Those poor idiots...
I didn’t realize this was a security ship. Those dumb bastards are in for an exceptionally unpleasant time. Once they get them below-decks and separated, they’re probably going to learn some new ways to hurt.
And believe me, a Japanese cop can grab your thumb and elbow in a way that would have Chuck Norris singing soprano — and never leave a mark.
Talk about stupid!!!
They should consider themselves lucking if that's all that happens. If anyone attempted to board my vessel uninvited at sea, they would be gunned down and left for shark food.
