Stand With Arizona
Just one day after announcing his intent to try and block the Federal "Secure Communities" program, the mayor of "Sanctuary City" New Haven, CT announced he would be asking the state legislature to grant illegal aliens in New Haven the right to vote in municipal elections.
Mayor John DeStefano argues that illegal aliens who live in New Haven pay local taxes and their kids go to school in the city, and deserve the right to vote:
DeStefano said he plans to lobby the state for a resident voting rights bill that would allow any resident of New Havenregardless of immigration statusto vote in municipal elections in New Haven. He said hell launch the effort during this upcoming legislative session, which runs from February to May. This bill is about how you define community, and how you define responsibility in community, he said. The Fifteenth Amendment (Amendment XV) to the United States Constitution: "Section 1. The right of CITIZENS of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude."
But why should the mere Constitution give this far-left mayor any pause? He has already turned immigration laws on their head.
DeStefano, made national headlines in 2007 when the city approved a program that provides municipal identification cards for all residents -- including illegal immigrants -- to provide access to services such as banking and the library. The cards have also been used for illegals to - ILLEGALLY - access WIC, food stamps, free diapers and other welfare benefits funded by both Federal and state sources.
Below: The New Haven Municipal ID Card, which brought thousands of illegals to the city, and helped drive crime rates to record levels.
The ID card for illegals has been a huge draw for illegals, who have come into New Haven by the thousands in the past 4 years. Official estimates place the number of illegals - mainly Ecuadoreans - at between 10,000 and 12,000, but dissenting experts place the figure closer to 20,000 - a staggering 15.5% of the city's population.
How have these new additions to the city impacted it? In just 3 years since the ID was offered, thank to illegals stealing jobs, the unemployment rate has risen at TWICE the national rate - with poor and lower middle-class blacks affected the most. New Haven's murder, assault and robbery rates DOUBLED, and the city is now the 4th most dangerous city in the U.S., according to FBI stats, and is posied to replace Hartford as Connecticut's murder capital, for the first time this year.

Why not? Illegal aliens are already voting in all types of elections all over the country. /s
Maybe with the idea of a wall on the southern border, we should also consider a wall around New Haven to keep them from getting out into law abiding cities as well.
When do I get to vote in Ecuadorian elections?
DeStafano=Dog doo for brains.
Funny how citizens who are registered to vote cannot be bothered to bring an I.D. to the polls; but this clown wants an I.D. to allow non-citizens to vote. Sheesh.
I look at the picture at the top of this page, and I think of Otis Campbell from the Andy Griffith Show.
They should go to jail as any criminal would and the mayor should go to jail for criminal conspiracy.
Gee, what’s the hurry? I thought for sure they would wait until Election Day, let them vote, and iron out the legality later in court. Surrounded by twenty thousand Occupiers.
New Haven, what part of ILLEGAL, don’t you understand? If a criminal broke into your house, demand that you feed and house him, would you let him have any say in your running of your house? I would call 911 to arrest him.
4th worst city in the country
32 murder so far this year
But, the D-Man knows who his voters are and they’ve kept the idiot in office all these years.
maybe it IS time to desolve congress and have that constitutional convention.....

(Don’t attack my grammar. There’s a comma in there.) Ping.
Another story indicates....Six municipalities in Maryland permit resident, including non citizens, voting in local elections, including Takoma Park, Barnesville, Martins Additions, Somerset, Garrett Park, and Chevy Chase. Takoma Park did this in 1992, a decision that has stayed on the books despite efforts early on to repeal it.
Chicago is an example of a city that allows all residents, regardless of legal status, to vote on school issues.Further into story..........If you live here, you pay taxes here and send your kids to school here, you should be able to vote, DeStefano said. No wonder many states want to ban needing an ID to Vote.
I’d like to see how much they pay in taxes VS how much they use in gubmint services.

Welcome to New Haven. Is that 28 murders. I can't keep track. There couldn't be a correlation between the crime rate and the illegals, eh? I believe the famous Christmas tree on the green got torched a few days ago.
