And whatever you do, in your cover letter don't write about wanting to 'reach out' to your prospective employer about the new opportunity.
The next time I hear that two word phrase I'm gonna punch its user in the throat.

I’ve had pretty good luck just keeping things limited to, “clean and articulate.”

I guess they are overused because perhaps not as many have done them as used the words.
If I wrote a resume giving examples, it would be a book.

And especially for attorneys, paralegals and legal secretaries, always, always, ALWAYS include the ‘l’ in ‘public’. Always. Seriously. I have seen at least a half dozen resumes with that error.
Spell check can be your friend . . . or not.

I am pleased to say that I have never used any of these terms in a resume or cover letter. (And I’ve written a fair number of them over the years.)

"Fast-paced" - that's one of my personal hot buttons, not so much in resumés as in employment listings.
It's amazing how many job listings contain a description of the work environment as "fast-paced", which begs the question: as opposed to what???
Are there really any "slow-paced" workplaces out there in the 21st century?
