“NASA’s funding issues have nothing to do with free trade, they all stem from the fact that Kennedy was the last president with any real vision for space.”

I don’t know about that. I seem to remember W giving a pretty rousing, and inspiring speech (I can’t remember exactly when, maybe during one of his SOTU speeches), about continuing our exploration into space. He specifically mentioned going back to the moon, setting up a permanent settlement there to use as the launching base for a mission to Mars.
I also remember a bunch of leftist media boobs all yucking it up, or sniggering under their breaths, and doing endless stories about what an idiot he was, he was a TX hayseed because he didn’t present them with the CAD drawn plans, and itinerary for the projects.
If Obozo had given the same speech, they would have all dropped to the ground in orgasmic rapture that their satanic messiah was saving the universe now that he had “lowered the sea levels, and healed the planet”.
I really want to see self anointed little jackwagons like that destroyed as much as I want to see liberals defeated, and driven into the dust bin of history. But then I may be making a redundant statement.

I remember that speech, it was a great speech, would have been a better speech had their been any form of follow up. The only change in NASA funding was more cuts, NASA wasn’t pushed to put any steps towards those goals into their place. Most of the media coverage I remember from that speech was quite positive, of course I’m more tied to the nerd section of the world, even the people that didn’t like Bush were happy to have some one with a vision for space. Then nothing happened. So much for the vision.
