Have you ever been primed? I mean has anyone ever deliberately influenced your subconscious mind and altered your perception of reality without your knowing it? Whole Foods Market, and others, are doing it to you right now.

That's why the dairy department is in the furthest corner from the front door of most grocery stores.
Obama voters were *primed* ... hope they saved their receipt and ask for their vote back.
Check out on YouTube “Whole Foods Parking Lot” video.
Very funny stuff that lampoons Whole Foods shoppers.
Seriously, this is one of the dumbest articles I have ever read.
Oh, puleezee ...
A store trying gimmicks to make you want to shop??? Say it ain’t so!
I’m stunned that anyone would be so naive to think that there are sales tactics used in making sales. It’s called advertising.
I love Whole Foods.
Ha, my post #4 is equally outraged that stores want to make it cushy so that you buy.
What do buyers want? A soviet atmosphere in spartan surroundings?
I love Whole Foods too. I love all their prepared food most ... and the produce. And cheese ... and roasted meats ... :)
This one?

I guess you have to shop there. I don’t find it to be that funny.
I guess I would be able to relate if it were Aldi’s.
Walking into WF is like walking into a theme restaurant—if you don’t know that you’re paying for the decor then you deserve to pay for it.
Dirty capitalists.
And the desserts..and the bread...:)
THIS IS THE BEST USE FOR A SUPERMARKET

I call it Whole Paycheck market, but they do sell top-quality groceries.
Just like Wal-Mart and how they place the men oriented items way in the back part of the store and especially items that you want to run in, get, pay for and get out ! A big peeve of mine combined with a lot of junk placed in the aisle to make it very difficult to move through the store quickly.
Wal-Mart gets very little business from me. I only buy motor oil from there and go there at a time where I can go in through the side door (Auto Service) versus having to walk through the whole d@mn store to get there and get it !
Another peeve, out of 30 checkout counters open, only 2 are open with long, long lines in each and self checkout being closed or very limited.

Welcome to the last century! I worked on remodeling a little privately owned grocery store 30 years ago. The owner put A LOT of time and effort into researching how to lay out the store to generate more sales. Evil capitalist.
Let me see: Merchants want their stores to be attractive and inviting and want to display their produce so it looks wholesome and appealing.
The nerve. I feel so manipulated.
—OMG - Whole Foods tries to get people to spend as much money as possible at their stores. The fascistic horror of it!
Seriously, this is one of the dumbest articles I have ever read.—
My thoughts exactly. I also heard the water on vegetable thing decades ago. And the fresh flowers. I will say this: a lot of stores really should learn from this.
Generally we shop there for special occasions.
This is series. Does the First Lady know about this?
HEB opened a new grocery store close to me about 10 years ago. They “primed” it in such a way that shoppers had to enter the produce section first before they got to any other departments.
And not just entering the produce section was enough. They “mazed” it so that you HAD to head down one small isle then turn back and head down a second isle. Then you were free to head off into different departments.
Shoppers were pissed!!! They soon corrected this. You still have to go by the produce department. But not through it.
I still hate that store though. You can’t run in and out quickly for a few itens. When you want to head for the checkouts.. You have to to zig and zag around through produce or the healthy and beauty department.
As a result.... we spend more and shop more at WalMart.
