TORONTO (Reuters) - For actor Nicolas Cage, making the new thriller movie "Trespass" hit close to home.

Cage, at the Toronto film festival along with director Joel Schumacher promoting the film about a home invasion, said that he has actually lived through the nightmare in real life.

"It was two in the morning. I was living in Orange County at the time and was asleep with my wife. My two-year old at the time was in another room. I opened my eyes and there was a naked man wearing my leather jacket eating a Fudgesicle in front of my bed," he told reporters on Wednesday.

"I know it sounds funny ... but it was horrifying."

A Fudgesicle is a frozen, ice cream-like snack.

I know this post is completely irrelevent to current events, but it's not often you get a chance to post a title like that!

Technically, the man wasn’t “naked”, if he was wearing Cage’s jacket. ;-)

I thought the earlier “Virgin passenger, 25, ‘demanded sex from steward after downing whisky’” headline had the headline of the day (and perhaps the year) award locked up, but I think this one beats it.

Guy is lucky he didn’t do it to me in Texas. He would have gotten two .45 slugs to the chest even if it would have ruined my leather jacket!

You can always get a new jacket.

Last week the same man was in the same place holding a tube steak.

A Fudgesicle is a frozen, ice cream-like snack.

I'm quickly reading over the Freep headlines and I thought this said he was eating Fungicide.

“I know it sounds funny ... but it was horrifying.”

That would scare the heck out of me.

I actually had someone come through my apt. once, not an invasion, but they climbed through an open window, stole my purse and departed. It was me and my little daughter who lived there, she was sleeping in my bed and luckily the thief was only a thief and went right by us.

I never slept another night in that place.

Very, extremely, scary.

What can one say: oh thank you Mr. Thief for not being a murderer, rapist, kidnapper?

Well, I do say thank you for that.

And that is pretty sad.

The real question is, was it his own Fudgesicle, or Cage’s???

I live in fairly safe areas, but I still keep a handgun loaded and ready to go within arms reach of where I sleep, and at least one more somewhere in the bedroom ready to go. I also keep a 12 gauge shotgun in the closet loaded (#6) but none in the chamber (weapon of choice). If I get to that and the sound of it being charged isn't enough to send a thief/rapist/murderer sprinting, then they deserve what they get, no questions asked.

Yes, #6's at close range will mess one up...

The comments below are great:

“Foolish Hollywood director has to make a political statement against the Haves and for the Have Nots....very compelling indeed. I’m sure his only purpose is to show that we should NOT blame burglars/thieves/robbers and the like for the actions they take as long as it is directed at the so called Haves. Does he not realize that he himself is a Have and that there are Have Nots out there just waiting to attack him as well? Why didn’t he just title his movie Robin Hood?” Which of course is true, Hollywood and it’s political statements...lame.

Love this one:
Cage says to man, “Hey man, you can break into my house, stare creepily at my wife and I while we sleep, and even wear my leather jacket, I’m cool with that... but that was the last freakin’ Fudgesicle bro!!”
